Case filed against journalist Ovsyannikova detained in Moscow region – media

Former Channel One editor Marina Ovsyannikova, who was detained in the Moscow region, was prosecuted for speaking at the Basmanny Court of Moscow, the Readovka Telegram channel reports.

According to Ovsyannikova’s lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov, she is charged with the article “Public actions aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”.

It is reported that at present the journalist has been taken to the Krasnoselsky police department in Moscow.

On the eve it became known about the detention of a journalist. Earlier, her lawyer suggested that this was due to a one-man picket.

In March, Marina Ovsyannikova broke into the live broadcast of the Vremya program. She took with her a poster calling for an end to the special military operation in Ukraine. Later, she went to work for the German publication Die Welt.

The court imposed a fine of 30,000 rubles on the woman for calling for participation in unauthorized protests. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Ovsyannikova's act hooliganism.
